'Borderlands 3' News: More Clues Point to the Upcoming Official Reveal of the Sequel
New job listing posted by Gearbox Software expected to be related to the sequel
Whatever concerns some fans may still have that "Borderlands 3" is not coming are likely being addressed since more clues are now available and are pointing to this eagerly anticipated game already being in development.
One of the newer clues came in the form of a job listing posted by Gearbox Software.
The people over at Gearbox Software are looking for a writer who can work on an "unannounced AAA FPS/RPG hybrid with strong characters and central narrative thread." Applicants must also possess an "ability for comedic or satiric writing."
Gearbox CEO Randy Pitchford also posted about the job over on Twitter, and many of the fans who responded to him are guessing that the writer they are looking for will be working on the aforementioned sequel.
That was not the only clue Pitchford provided regarding this particular game.
Responding to a fan who expressed an excitement to see the next installment of the "Borderlands" franchise, Pitchford replied: "Sorry for the wait! Thanks for your patience!"
Notably, it was not just Pitchford who had been hinting that "Borderlands 3" was already in the works.
Randy Varnell, who worked on "Battleborn" as the creative director, authored a post on Gearbox's forums to thank fans who supported that game and to also provide an idea of what was in store for it. On top of that, Varnell also mentioned that he will "play a significant role on this highly anticipated but unannounced game."
Again, rumors are hinting that the "highly anticipated but unannounced game" Varnell referred to is none other than the new "Borderlands" game.
There was also a news release from Take-Two that came out earlier this year which stated that a "highly anticipated new title from one of 2K's biggest franchises" was due out in fiscal year 2019.
At this point, all that may really be lacking is a formal announcement from Gearbox Software that "Borderlands 3" is really on its way.
