'Boruto: Naruto Next Generations': 'Naruto' Spin-Off Series Gets English Simulcast, Premieres April 5

After ending its 10-year run as the longest-running anime series on television, "Naruto Shippuden" is set to get its spin-off next month. For avid fans of the series who aren't ready to let go of Naruto just yet, Viz Media has made an important announcement about "Boruto: Naruto Next Generations," the "Naruto" spin-off series that will center on the ninja's eldest son, Boruto.

It was previously reported that "Boruto: Naruto Next Generations" will premiere in April. On March 23, Viz Media announced that it will roll out an English simulcast for the spin-off series on the same day as its Japanese premiere.

In an official statement, Viz Media said, "The first episode of the new series will make its U.S. simulcast premiere on Hulu beginning April 5, the same day as its premiere in Japan. New episodes will continue to premiere weekly on Wednesdays."

Viz Media's senior manager of animation marketing Charlene Ingram also teased that the stage of "Boruto: Naruto Next Generations" is set for intense adventures, featuring a new cast of ninjas from the Hidden Leaf Village.

Viz Media also announced that the cast for the English dub of the series will include Amanda Miller as Boruto; Cherami Leigh as Sasuke's daughter Sarada; and Robbie Daymond as Mitsuki, the mysterious synthetic human shinobi.

When the series first debuts, Hulu will be the first to have access. While Crunchyroll also previously confirmed that it will show the series this spring, there is no announcement yet as to when exactly the series will air on their streaming service.

"Boruto: Naruto Next Generations" will open with the life of the shinobi starting to take a different turn as Boruto Uzumaki, the son of Naruto, enrolls in the Ninja Academy to learn the ways of the ninja. The synopsis for the new series reveals that the students in the academy will see Boruto with prejudiced eyes after knowing that he is the son of the seventh Hokage, and that is where his adventure begins.
