Boy Bands 'NSync and Backstreet Boys Working on A Zombie Movie Together
If reports are true, fans may soon see what used to be rival boy bands 'NSync and the Backstreet Boys collaborating on something more than just music. The two boy bands have reportedly put off their long-time rivalry to work together on a movie.
Nick Carter is pegged to pen the script for the movie, which will be under the same studio that brought the hit franchise "Sharknado" on SyFy.
When asked what the movie will be about, Carter told Rolling Stone that it was a "zombie Western futuristic horror movie." His character, he added, was "still being worked out right now, but I'm a good guy that's going to help save the day."

The movie will be tentatively titled "Dead 7" and Carter described it as a drama about a "ragtag band of gunslingers" who are fighting against a zombie plague. Other cast members include fellow Backstreet Boys members Howie Dorough and A.J. McLean. So far, the only 'NSync member that has signed up is Joey Fatone.
Fatone was also interviewed and he told Rolling Stone that he was cast as "a drunk." Carter said that he had other people in mind, some of them from the music industry, because he said he wanted it "to be musically based." He mentioned that he might get in touch with Jordan Knight of the New Kids on the Block.
The studio that is backing the project is The Asylum, headed by David Latt. Latt said, "What Carter came to us with was a big idea of pop music stars in a genre setting. A lot of platforms, distributors and companies we work with responded to that immediately and we knew we had something we should move forward with."
Carter attended the San Diego Comic-Con to promote the film. The Asylum is confident that despite Carter's lack of experience in making movies, this is still a project worth supporting. Co-founder David Rimawi said "he's a giant horror movie fan and very talented individual."
