Brad Pitt New Project Based on Steubenville Rape Case

Brad Pitt's production company has bought the rights to the Steubenville, Ohio rape case story, which will be based upon a 2013 "Rolling Stone" story written by David Kushner. Reports state that the young woman at the center of the story, the rape victim, wants to be involved with Pitt's project.

"Anonymous vs. Steubenville" was written by "Rolling Stone" contributor David Kushner and told the story of the Steubenville rape case from the point of view of Anonymous member Deric Lostutter, who was responsible for revealing the cover-ups in the case. After reading an article by a local author, Lostutter decided to get involved and reveal the truth about what happened to the 16-year-old girl raped by two football players.

Only after Anonymous got involved did authorities take notice of the case. The two young men accused of the crime were found guilty and registered as Tier II sex offenders. Since then, one of the offenders has been released and is back at high school, playing football, while his accomplice remains behind bars.

The young woman has never spoken publicly about her ordeal but reportedly wants to help Brad Pitt tell the story accurately. Lostutter spoke to Mail Online about the situation, the film, and the young woman who simply wants to help tell her story.

"Who better to tell her story than her?" Lostutter asked. "If her lawyer approves it, we're going to make Jane Doe a consultant to the movie. Her best friend told me that she was sitting right next to her when she found out [about the movie] and that she trust me and thanks me for getting involved."

Even though Lostutter was trying to do the right thing and give Jane Doe a voice, his home was raided by FBI agents and he could face serious jail time for posting online leaks and videos. He added that he receives death threats and has moved from his home but expects to be indicted in "mid April, early May."

"It has become my life really, but if I hadn't tried to give Jane Doe a voice then I'd be as bad as the people who stood by and did nothing while the rape was happening," Lostuttter said.
