Brandy Norwood Officially Ends Engagement

Brandy Norwood, the 35-year-old R&B singer, has officially parted ways from her fiance and music executive Ryan Press recently, according to media reports.

"They are no longer together. The engagement is off, but the friendship is still on. They decided to take a step back and reevaluate the relationship," the singer's representative said in a statement obtained by Us Weekly. "Brandy is 35 now-- that's what her whole #35 on Twitter is about, becoming her own woman."

Still, the publication reports that Norwood still plans to be married on day. In the meantime, it seems "The Game" actress is keeping busy and working on her seventh studio album.

"Brandy has a daughter and she still wants to be married and have more kids but she is working on so many other things right now," Brandy's rep told Us Weekly, which first reported the split. "They haven't ended things on a bad note and they still speak all the time."

Norwood previously spoke about being in love with her former fiance, and getting advice about marriage from other couples.

"I want it to stay like this so every married couple that we have been meeting over our vacation, I've been asking them, 'So what's the secret,'" Norwood previously told PopStopTV. "They've been giving me a lot of great tips. Communication is the key, clearly, so we'll see what this thing does."

For months, breakup rumors have been circulating about Norwood after she has been spotted without her engagement ring. However, she has not always been forthcoming about her personal life.

"I'm not talking about my relationship," she told Hip Hollywood at the Essence Black Women in Hollywood luncheon previously. "I'm here to celebrate powerful women today."

The singer went on to reveal her thoughts about sharing information about publicly speaking on relationships.

"I think you just have to speak from your heart and if you want to share [your relationship], great," she told Hip Hollywood. "If not, then that's your choice."

However, Norwood refused to detail what was going on in her personal romantic life.
