Maria Sharapova and Grigor Dimitrov Break-Up: Split Rumors as Couple Unfollow Each Other on Twitter
There are rumors going around the world of tennis that Maria Sharapova and Grigor Dimitrov have allegedly called it quits.
According to reports, the two have unfollowed each other on Twitter and neither one of them has been seen watching the other play in the U.S. Open recently.
Sharapova and Dimitrov have been dating each other since 2012. They were also recently rumored to be engaged. However, if there is any truth to the speculations, the couple might have decided to break up to focus on their respective careers.
According to NDTV Sports, while both of them may have found something in common in their chosen profession, Sharapova reportedly said last year that their relationship is based on more than just a love for tennis.
"It's about finding that person where you can be yourself all the time, where you're comfortable with being [the] young girl, the older girl, the mature girl, and the person that understands you and looks at you and says, 'You're completely off your rocker!'" said the 27-year old beauty.
Earlier this year, the couple even considered playing together in the mixed doubles but the plan never came to fruition. In July, the two were photographed on a vacation together in Mexico, and they also attended the ESPN ESPY Awards a week after their holiday. They couple also engaged in some flirty tweets during Dimitrov's #AskGrigor session on Twitter which was organized by Nike. They appeared to be happy and in love during that month, and it was not until late August when rumors of an impending breakup started to surface about the two of them.
Neither Sharapova nor Dimitrov have made any official statement about the status of their relationship.
