'Breath of the Wild' Tips and Tricks: What Players Should Know About Star Fragments

"The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild" was released earlier this month and has proven to meet all the years' worth of excitement. However, one rare item called Star Fragments is causing a little bit of confusion among players.

According to a guide by iDigitalTimes, not only are the Star Fragments rare, it is somehow also puzzling how players are supposed to use this item. However, as confusing as it can get, the same report tipped that Star Fragments are vital items for upgrading several specialty armor sets.

For starters, iDigitalTimes noted that players working with amiibo sets are required to hunt down way more pieces of Star Fragments compared to those with non-amiibo sets.

According to the report, players with non-amiibo sets will need at least two Star Fragments each for: Topaz Earrings, Ruby Necklace, Sapphire Circle, Diamond Tiara and Ancient Greaves.

On the other hand, players who are working their way into the game with amiibo sets will need 10 pieces of Star Fragments for each set of: Cap of the Sky, Tunic of the Sky, Trousers of the Sky, Cap of Time, Tunic of Time, Trousers of Time, Cap of Twilight, Tunic of Twilight, Trousers of Twilight, Cap of the Wind, Tunic of the Wind, Trousers of the Wind, Cap of the Hero, Tunic of the Hero and Trousers of the Hero. In the meantime, they also need a piece of Star Fragment each for the Cap of the Wild, Tunic of the Wild, and Trousers of the Wild amiibo sets.

How to find Star Fragments?

According to players' accounts, the Star Fragments are more likely found when one spends time at elevated structures such as towers where they can literally wait for stars to fall.

Players will know if a star has fallen because the phenomenon releases a bright yellow beacon that is naturally easier to spot when in a high place. However, it will still be quite an task to find out exactly where the star has fallen once it lands on the ground.

Cook with Star Fragments

Other reports have also mentioned several ways to use the Star Fragments, and one option is to cook them.

According to VG 24/7, cooking with a Star Fragment releases a good amount of bonus. However, the same iDigitalTimes report advised against cooking with a Star Fragment commenting that it is not necessarily a magnificent ingredient unlike other fruit or items found in the game.
