'Bridget Jones's Baby' Trailer Released, Ed Sheeran & Emma Thompson Appears in Cameo Roles
The moment that Renee Zellweger fans have been waiting for is finally coming. Those who have been waiting for the third sequel to the "Bridget Jones" franchise can now get a continuation to the last film with the upcoming "Bridget Jones's Baby" movie. According to Mirror UK, the trailer for the third installment has been released already and it teased pretty much what the movie will be all about.
Zellweger is back to reprise her role as the unlucky-in-love Bridget. She's still struggling with love but everything is going to be different as she will be facing pregnancy. It would have been a lot easier if only she knew who the baby daddy is. Colin Firth will also reprise his role as Mark Darcy, potential baby daddy number one. Joining them is newcomer character Jack Qwant played by "Grey's Anatomy" star Patrick Dempsey. He is Bridget's new love interest and potential baby daddy number 2.
The trailer opened with Bridget walking down the aisle, ready to get hitched. However, there was no sight of a groom and the scene shifted to a lonely and alone Bridget indicating that she's still single in her 40's. But she doesn't let her situation get into her as she continues on with her life and career.
"Not to dwell on the negatives -- many positives to note -- I'm absolutely loving my new life," Zellweger says in the trailer.
The teaser also showed Bridget crossing paths with Mark again who may have left Bridget at the altar which is why they have split in the third movie, as noted in Metro UK. But they're not estranged lovers though as they will reunite and kiss and even hook-up. She will also meet Jack and it seems like the two has hooked-up as well. And once Bridget found out she is pregnant, she's just not sure who the father is.
The movie maintains its comical genre but it's expected to be packed with drama as well. Seen also in the trailer for their cameo roles are Ed Sheeran and Emma Thompson who is revealed to be Bridget's obstetrician.
"Bridget Jones's Baby" is scheduled to hit theaters on Sept. 16.
