'Bridget Jones's Baby' update: Renee Zellwegger all set to go back to third movie franchise, Patrick Dempsey to replace Hugh Grant

Renee Zellwegger is reportedly coming back to the big screen soon with a third movie from the "Bridget Jones's" franchise. Amidst reports about the changes in her appearance after plastic surgery, she will still be reprising her role as the sassy British Bridget Jones.

The 46-year old actress first starred in the 2001 film "Bridget Jones's Diary" with Colin Firth as Mark Darcy and Hugh Grant as Daniel Cleaver. Four years after, they followed it up with "Bridget Jones: The Edge of Reason." And now, reports say she's working on "Bridget Jones's Baby."

According to Movie News Guide, Zellwegger started eating up again to gain weight for her role in the upcoming film. She has been reported to be following a high-calorie diet of liquid drinks and chips so that she would be ideal for the role as Bridget, who is known in the previous films as plump. And since Zellwegger knows that she naturally has a skinny frame, she really has to take bigger bites. So far, so good. She's been gaining weight again for the franchise and now she's all set up for filming.

Just Jared even reported that the "Jerry Maguire" star had been spotted exiting the ITV Studios in London where she was rumored to be doing some research for "Bridget Jones's Baby." People confirmed that the actress "caught the taping of an early hours news show in the same vein as Bridget Jones' fictional "Sit-up Britain." She is said to have taken cues from British TV journalist Susanna Reid, host of "Good Morning Britain."

In other news, "Grey's Anatomy" alum Patrick Dempsey is reported to be joining the cast of the movie. Since Hugh Grant will no longer be coming back to reprise his role for the third time, Yibada said that Dempsey will be replacing him as Daniel Cleaver. But then again, nothing has been confirmed yet and Dempsey's part in the movie is still kept under the wraps. Filming is reported to start on Oct. 2 already.
