'Britney Ever After' Lifetime Premiere Date Details: Actress Reveals Highlights of Lifetime's Biopic

Despite the fact that Britney Spears did not approve of the project nor contribute to it in any form, Lifetime still proceeded to create a biopic for the artist, titled "Britney Ever After," and it stars Natasha Bassett as Spears.

According to the 23-year-old Australian actress, the highlights of the biopic mosly focused on the pop star's famous meltdown back in 2007 when she reached out for a razor and shaved off her hair. "Even though she's a huge superstar, she's also a human being and all those struggles are under a microscope," Bassett said during an interview with Entertainment Weekly.

And of course, the biopic is not complete without highlighting Spears' break-up with Justin Timberlake back in 2002 which shook the music industry, and most of all, their fans.
Justin Timberlake will be played by Nathan Keyes, and it is reported that all members of the boy band, N*Sync, will also be portrayed in the biopic.

The show will also portray Spears' marriage to former back-up dancer Kevin Federline, their subsequent divorce, her meltdown and eventually the revival of her career - which led her to a Las Vegas residency.

"So some things were altered slightly, but what was really important to me is that we conveyed the essence of Britney, and I'm sure that we did," the actress explained to EW.

In addition, Bassett revealed that she made a lot of preparations to play the role - including listening to Britney Spears' interviews for hours just to get her accent right.

The actress also shared that the hardest part of the project was her reenactment of Spears' famous 2001 Video Music Awards performance where she danced with a python on her shoulders.

"We had to do about 10 takes [of that scene], so by the end, me and that python were best friends," Bassett said in an interview with the New York Post, adding that the producers sometimes distract her with off-topic questions just to make her forget about the giant python.

The two-hour biopic premieres on Saturday, Feb. 18, at 8 p.m. EST on Lifetime.
