Brittany Daniel Reveals Cancer Battle: 'My Family Saw Me Through This,' Star Says
Actress Brittany Daniel has appeared on hit series such as "Sweet Valley High" with her twin sister Cynthia and "The Game" and recently revealed that she has been battling non-Hodgkin's lymphoma since 2011. The star is now doing better and is back on "The Game" thanks to her family's support and a great doctor.
"It happened so suddenly," Brittany told People. She was diagnosed with the disease after experiencing flu-like symptoms, night sweats, and severe back pain. As soon as she was diagnosed with cancer, she began chemotherapy. She and her mother moved into sister Cynthia's guest home in order to make things easier and have the support she needed, both physically and emotionally.
Brittany and Cynthia have been close since birth and starred on the popular series "Sweet Valley High," which was based on the books of the same name. The series lasted for three seasons and helped launch Brittany's career, which includes several TV movies. However, she found success in 2006 by appearing on "The Game."

Sister Cynthia chose to leave show business and has been married since 2006 and has two children of her own. She was the first one there for her twin when times got hard, and Brittany gives full credit of her recovery to Cynthia and their mother.
"There is no way I would have ever gotten through this without my family. My family is everything to me and I feel like they saw me through this," Brittany said.
She made the decision not to tell a lot of people about her diagnosis, so as to keep the situation private and manageable. Now, though, she is cancer-free and sharing her story in able to hopefully help others.
"I want to let people know it is absolutely possible to get through something like this. I want people to know they are not alone," Brittany told People.
"The Game" airs on BET Tuesdays at 10 p.m. ET.
