Brooklyn Nets Looking to Trade Brook Lopez, Joe Johnson, Deron Williams
The Brooklyn Nets are planning to trade their All-Star trio Brook Lopez, Joe Johnson and Deron Williams to any interested teams.
The Nets' decision to trade their players is not surprising considering the team has ended up with a full roster due to prior deals and now has a season record of 8-11. It now makes sense for the higher-ups to officially let go of some of their players.
Lopez has been billed at $32 million through 2015 to 2016, Johnson at $48 million for 2015 to 2017 and Williams came up with the highest amount of $63 million through 2016 to 2017.
However, it seems unlikely that the Nets will be able to let go of their players, not just for the tag prices themselves, but also because of the fact that none of the trio have been playing as well as expected to justify the asking prices.
Another players also looking to be traded is forward Andrei Kirilenko, who has been away for a while due to personal matters. However, reports have it that he already has a possible deal in the bag as the 76ers have restarted negotiations with the Nets after they last spoke last November.
The Nets are not just looking to trade though because sources have it that they are still hopeful that some or all of their deals will help them bring in a few talented players in exchange and help them continue as a playoff team.
The Nets are also still trying to turn things around after they parted ways with coach Jason Williams, who has moved on to work with the Milwaukee Bucks. They are also hoping to make up for last season's $190 million roster that failed to bag them a championship, ending up in a second round exit during their match against the Miami Heat.
