'Brooklyn Nine-Nine' Season 4 Spoilers: Jake and Holt Go Under Witness Protection; New Captain Assigned in Precinct
Because of the threat from mafia boss Jimmy Figgis, Jake and Holt assume new identities and the fun begins.
"Brooklyn Nine-Nine" Season 4 has become a much anticipated series because of the curiosity it generated as a result of last season's finale.
The last time Jacob "Jake" Peralta (Andy Sandberg) and Captain Raymond Holt (Andre Braugher) were seen, they were going to enter the witness protection program in order to get away from the mafia boss, Jimmy "The Butcher" Figgis.
Under Witness Protection Program
Although "Brooklyn Nine-Nine" will still be full of comedy gold for which it has been known for, it will also deal with some serious matters. Jake and Holt got a call from Figgis, where he threatened to kill them both. Without delay, the two were whisked off to Florida with fake identities and were put under witness protection.
Figgis is certainly a formidable foe—what with his connections inside the Federal Bureau of Investigation. Speculations point out that his connections do not end with Holt's former partner, Anderson (Dennis Haysbert), last season.
Although viewers will certainly miss seeing the whole crew together in "Brooklyn Nine-Nine" Season 4, it will be interesting to see how the two will handle having new identities in a new place. And, with no one from the precinct around to have their backs, Jake and Holt will surely find themselves in even bigger trouble.
Magnet for trouble
Jake has always been known to be a magnet for trouble. And it is not farfetched for Jimmy, who has a wide network of people working for him, to be able to track him down even in Florida. A spoiler report suggests that the upcoming season of "Brooklyn Nine-Nine" will feature Jake's abduction.
With only Holt for backup and without any official ammunition, things certainly do not look good for Jake. It looks like the mafia boss might just prosper in kidnapping Jake. Despite the setbacks, Jimmy could still use Jake to extract information for him, among other things.
Even if Jake and Holt can trust the people in their own precinct, there is no way to reach them. Being in a new place and with Figgis' criminal network, they cannot trust people around them in Florida. Even the witness protection officer assigned to their case may end up being Figgis' associate. There is also the possibility that Rosa's (Stephanie Beatriz) boyfriend and almost fiancé can be revealed to be in Figgis' payroll.
New Captain for Brooklyn Nine-Nine
Back in New York, fans are excited to see the new captain in Brooklyn Nine-Nine. As earlier confirmed, Ken Marino is set to replace Holt in the precinct for two episodes. According to a report, Marino's character, C.J., stumbled upon his promotion to captain purely by luck. But C.J. is not keen on imposing order or enforcing rules.
Meanwhile, producers have assured fans that they are working at a storyline that will deal with Peralta and Santiago's (Melissa Fumero) blossoming relationship. Fans are looking forward to how the couple will deal being apart for a while in the coming "Brooklyn Nine-Nine" season.
The "Brooklyn Nine-Nine" Season 4 premiere will air on September 20 on Fox.
