Bryan Singer Posts 'X-Men: Apocalypse' Image of Storm on Egypt Set

Director Bryan Singer has released another teaser image from the set of "X-Men: Apocalypse" showing Storm in Egypt.

Alexandra Shipp, who plays Storm in the ninth installment of the "X-Men" film series, has just been featured in one of Director Bryan Singer's latest Instagram set photos as a teaser for the upcoming "X-Men: Apocalypse."

The photo shows Shipp on the camera monitor as she surveys storm clouds gathering over the pyramids at Cairo, Egypt.

Whether the looming storm has been caused by her weather-controlling mutant character, Storm, cannot be ascertained from the photo. Singer captioned the image, "#Storm watches over #1983 #Cairo via the magic of real time."

Shipp is featured with Storm's signature silver hair in a Mohawk, staying true to the Marvel Comics original portrayal. Halle Berry, who played the adult Ororo Monroe/Storm, wore her hair long in the previous "X-Men" installments.

Shipp's Storm photo is the latest in the series of images Singer has released in the last few months to update fans of the progress of the upcoming mutant saga.

Last month, he posted a picture of himself looking up at a gigantic statue of the Ancient Egyptian god of the dead, Anubis in a realistically constructed set, as well as a photo of himself amidst the "ruins" of Cairo with a green screen in the background.

"X-Men: Apocalypse" will take place in 1983, completing a trilogy that began with "X-Men: First Class" in 2011. The film details the events that occurred 20 years before the first "X-Men" film in 2000, and will feature younger versions of a host of mutants, including Shipp as Storm, Kodi Smit-McPhee as Nightcrawler, Sophie Turner as Jean Grey, Tye Sheridan as Cyclops, and Lana Condor as Jubilee.

Oscar Isaac will play the ancient villainous mutant, Apocalypse, while Olivia Munn will take on the character of Psylocke, one of Apocalypse's lethal mutant horsemen.

The movie, which premieres in US theaters on May 27, 2016, will also see the return of James McAvoy, who will reprise his role as Professor X, together with Michael Fassbender as Magneto, Nicholas Hoult as Beast, Rose Byrne as Moira MacTaggert, Evan Peters as Quicksilver, Lucas Till as Havok, and Jennifer Lawrence in her last portrayal of Mystique.
