Bus Driver Outs Santa and Jesus to 8-Year-Old
A parent has complained to a school in Norwalk, Connecticut after his 8-year-old daughter returned home reporting that the bus driver told her that Santa Claus is fake, and that Jesus Christ was not born on Christmas.
The school is currently investigating First Student, the contracted bus company. A spokeswoman for the company reported Monday that the accused bus driver “has been moved to a new bus route.”
According to Louis Seely, the father of the girl, the driver said: "He believes he should not lie to his kids about who puts the presents under the tree.”
The Hartford Courant reported that Jen Biddinger of First Student defended the driver saying, "We have no reason to believe that conversation took place as initially reported."
First Student is a large bus company that operates approximately 60,000 busses.
The bus driver under investigation has “never had a complaint filed against him before this incident. In fact, parents have started calling the bus company to complain about the fact he was moved,” according to Biddinger.
The father has reportedly filed other complaints about the bus driver to the school and said that the school has been slow to respond.
Steely still maintained his view to the Hartford Courant: "There's a code of conduct, and they should be held to a higher standard…The cat's going to come out of the bag, but it shouldn't be by the bus driver."
