'Call of Duty: Black Ops III' at PlayStation Experience 2015: Treyarch to Discuss Importance of A.I. to the Game
Treyarch, developer of "Call of Duty: Black Ops III," will be present in the PlayStation Experience 2015 this weekend. The developer will discuss the importance of AI to the title and future games as well.
Scott Lowe from Activision, publisher of "Call of Duty: Black Ops III," announced at the PlayStation Blog that Treyarch will have a panel discussion on Saturday, Dec. 5, at 4 p.m. PT.
The panel, titled "Call of Duty Black Ops 3: Unlocking the Potential of A.I," will talk about how it overhauled the AI systems in the game to adjust for cooperative multiplayer and how this change affected all the other elements of "Black Ops III."
"A.I. systems can fundamentally alter the gameplay experience," Lowe states in the post. "In order to build Call of Duty: Black Ops 3's four-player cooperative campaign, the team at Treyarch had to completely overhaul its A.I. technology and rethink how it influences combat, storytelling, and level design, all the while maintaining the cinematic immersion that the series is known for."
Representatives of the developer will also discuss how A.I. can shape the future of games.
Senior Designer Gary Stelmack, Senior Software Engineer Sumeet Jakatdar, Lead Animator Yanick Lebel, and Lead Writer Craig Houston will be the panel's speakers.
Event goers can attend "Call of Duty Black Ops 3: Unlocking the Potential of A.I" panel in the Moscone West Hall at the third floor for the PlayStation Experience 2015.
Other panels confirmed to be at Sony's event include a storytelling panel and one by "Uncharted 4" representatives. Those who can't be there can watch the panels live streamed on Twitch.
Sony's PlayStation Experience 2015 is a two-day event held from Dec. 5 to Dec. 6. Aside from these panels, participants can expect the event to also include announcements and demos of new and unreleased games.
