'Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Remastered': Prop Hunt Game Mode Until April 3

Early this week, Raven Software announced that the Weekend Warfare playlist in "Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Remastered" is the Prop Hunt mode. To celebrate April Fools' Day, the new mode will be available for the whole weekend.

"Garry's Mod," a popular PC game, is known for its "prop hunt" staple game mode. Known as a video game variation of hide and seek, this game mode features "seekers," which are identified as humans carrying weapons to destroy props. On the other hand, the "hiders" make use of props around the map in order to disguise themselves and be unnoticeable to the seekers. This game is essentially where "Modern Warfare Remastered" originated from.

The Prop Hunt mode gives props 30 seconds in the beginning of each round to hide. After those 30 seconds, the seekers are free to start looking for the props. The job of the hiders is to blend in with the surroundings and survive for as long as possible. Since they are also not restricted to stay in one spot, they can run to new hiding spots when they want, as long as they make sure that they are not spotted by the seekers.

In the game mode, the seekers are assigned to hunt down the hiders which they find suspicious. All seekers need to do in order to win the game is to kill all of the hiders. In the original game, "Garry's Mod," the rule is different. When seekers shoot at props and fail, they end up damaging themselves.

"Garry's Mod" and "Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Remastered" differ in certain rule sets, so there is a possibility that the latter may feature a different way of punishing the seekers' failed attempts of killing hiders.

The game mode will be available on "Modern Warfare Remastered" until Monday, April 3 at 1 p.m. EDT.
