Camila Cabello New Album 2017: Singer Teases 'Vulnerable' Music Coming
Camila Cabello is set to release her first solo album later this month, and the singer has teased what fans can expect from her music.
So far, Cabello has released a few singles, including the hit "Havana" featuring Young Thug. The former Fifth Harmony member said that half of the songs in her debut album have the same Latin influence.
More importantly, Cabello's upcoming album will contain a lot of her personal emotions and experiences. Saying it consists of "the essence of me," the Cuban singer teased that she bares everything in the album, titled "The Hurting. The Healing. The Loving."
"There's no side I didn't show on here. It's impossible to be vulnerable and talk about how you're really feeling that day in front of a camera, and that's something I can only do through my music," Cabello said. "I just try to share my story with the platform I have, whether it's in interviews or through my art, and let people know I'm proud to be who I am."
Cabello has certainly come a long way since competing on "The X Factor" in 2012. Even when she was still a part of Fifth Harmony, she already had collaborations with other artists like Shawn Mendes on "I Know What You Did Last Summer" and Machine Gun Kelly on "Bad Things." Earlier this year, Cabello joined Bruno Mars on the road as the opening act for his "24K Magic World Tour."
"What I've realized is she's a true artist," Epic Records' A&R executive vice president Joey Arbagey said. "You're definitely going to realize that she's an incredible songwriter."
Even though Cabello abruptly left Fifth Harmony last year, she had nothing but kind words for her former girl group. She also refused to comment on their MTV VMAs performance, where the remaining members of Fifth Harmony appeared to throw shade at her.
"The Hurting. The Healing. The Loving." will be released on Sept. 22.
