'Candy Crush' Tips, Tricks and Cheats: King Releases Steps in Eliminating Obstacles for a Cupid Challenge Advantage

King, developer of "Candy Crush," has released a limited-time event to celebrate Valentine's Day and the game studio was gracious enough to release a set of tips and tricks to eliminate candy roadblocks so players can get a slight edge in tackling the new challenges.

"Candy Crush's" Valentine's Day event this year introduces the Cupid's Challenge incorporated with a multiplayer mode. Added to that, getting the prize becomes more challenging as players will be put up against several other "Candy Crush" gamers. Only those who end up with the best scores get the best treats.

The Valentine's Day event kicked off last Friday with the first instance of the Cupid Challenge running until Feb. 15. Another Cupid's Challenge will be live from Feb. 17 to 21.

Tricks & Tips to Eliminate Candy Obstacles

To get a foot forward in the Cupid Challenges, King has released several tips (via iDigital Times) on how to get around some obstacles faced in day-to-day "Candy Crush" gaming.

Players from level 25 and above will encounter the Liquorice Lock that makes a candy immovable. The obvious way to eliminate it is to make a match with the locked candy. Power ups and bonus candies such as Line Blast, Double Line Blast and more are also good ways to eliminate it.

The Chocolate & Chocolate Fountains start to appear after reaching level 81. It multiplies and turns candy to useless chocolate blocks when not eliminated, thus hindering players from completing missions. It can be removed by making a match directly beside the chocolate block and by activating special candies adjacent or within its direction.

Upon reaching level 100, players will have to deal with Candy Bombs. With the right strategy, it can benefit the player. Otherwise, just like a bomb, it limits the player's move to a certain number before it prematurely ends a mission. They are sometimes tucked behind a Liquorice Lock which makes it harder to deal with.

Starting in level 366, players will see the Cake Bomb that occupies four blocks but is divided into eight segments. Meaning, it would take eight or more moves to eliminate one Cake Bomb. The most effective strategy is using a Wrapped Explosion adjacent to it to clear four segments at once.

Jumping to level 711 and above, players will be tested with the Sugar Chest obstacle. It is important to note that boosters and power ups do not affect this one and it can only be removed by matching three keys.
