Canon 7D MkII Release Date Unknown, Rumors of 23-Megapixel Sensor
Rumors about a new Canon camera circulated during the World Cup 2014. The games were said to have been used as a testing ground for the Canon 7D MkII, the newest addition to the professional APS-C DSLR camera line. It is still unknown however when the camera will be released.
The specs of the camera have been revealed and it would seem that the 7D MkII will be built like a smaller EOS-1D X featuring an integrated grip design. An EOS-1D X body usually means it would sport an EOS-1D top plate which has no mode dial on top of it.
Even with an EOS-1D X style top plate, the camera will still have a pop-up flash. The camera will also be equipped with WiFi capabilities and GPS without having to attach any add-ons.

With a readily available Wi-Fi connection, photographers would probably be able to access their e-mails or Facebook on the camera and may be even able to upload the photos they take directly to the social media or on any image database like Flickr.
The camera was initially speculated to sport a 20-megapixel sensor but there are rumors that it might actually be 23-megapixels. There is still no proof on whether this is true and if anything, Canon might be sticking to the 20-megapixels.
The 7D MkII will also have an ISO exposure of 100-12,800 up to 25,600, 1/8000 shutter speed along with a Quiet shutter mode, Phase detect Auto-focus, as well as continuous shooting of up to 8 frames per second.
Professional photographers however, are looking forward to the 7D MkII's viewfinder which is rumored to have a 100 percent coverage and 1.15x image magnification – higher than its predecessor.
