'Captain America: Civil War' News: Film Estimated to Rake in $200M Overseas
The biggest Marvel movie yet has finally rolled out in foreign theaters and even before the final figures are out, it is already estimated that "Captain America: Civil War" will gather up to $200 million overseas.
According to Variety, pre-release tracking estimates reveal that the film will be able to rake in roughly $200 million from foreign countries including some of the major territories that celebrate superhero films: Mexico, Japan, Korea, Brazil, the United Kingdom, France, Australia, and the Philippines.
If the figures come out right, the movie may be put in line with other massive Marvel titles such as "Avengers: Age of Ultron," which acquired $212 million in the foreign marketplace, and "Iron Man 3," that brought about $160 million.
Aside from its capacity to reach the stage that "Age of Ultron" is currently securing on top, tracking also suggests that it can become one of the five biggest openings that big screens have ever seen in history.
Indie Wire suggests that one of the reasons why so many fans are attracted to the story is due to its emblematic effect that reflects the Marvel Cinematic Universe's love for humanity and flaws. The outlet notes, though, that the aspect of compassion integrated in "Civil War" is its greatest strength it can also become its weakest point.
Meanwhile, Slash Film reports that the after credits scenes have been revealed and at one point, Sebastian Stan's Winter Soldier appears. The outlet points out that the specific scene could hint something coming up for Bucky, as fans are already very much interested in his story.
Aside from Bucky, the after credits also show Chadwick Boseman's Black Panther. It is already understandable that the decision to put him on the scenes is to raise more awareness regarding his upcoming solo film.
"Captain America: Civil War" started rolling out in foreign theaters on Wednesday and will hit U.S. big screens on May 6, 2016.
