'Captain America: Civil War' Spoilers: Avengers Against the Government
After the release of the "Captain America 3: Civil War" trailer, more spoilers have been revealed for the upcoming film.
It was revealed that the trailer continued from the post-credit scene of "Ant-Man," which revealed Bucky, played by Sebastian Stan, who was in a room with Captain America, played by Chris Evans, and Falcon, played by Anthony Mackie.
With that, the trailer showed that Bucky is not under the control of H.Y.D.R.A. anymore. However, he is still in great danger as it was revealed that he is being looked for since he had caused damage in the previous installment of the "Captain America" series.
It was speculated that the U.S. Government will be the one trying to hunt Bucky down. An evidence that strengthens this speculation is the fact that William Hurt will be returning to claim his role as General Ross.
According to Empire, the Russo brothers recently shared some details about his return. They said, "You cannot have a character called Captain America without examining the politics of what that means, especially in this day and age.The heroes in this universe operate under their own auspices, not under the directive of a government, and that can cause a lot of problems. There's a certain level of imperialism that we're examining — what right do those that have power have to use that power, even if it's to do good? How do you govern that kind of power?"
It was reported that General Ross will be in charge of leading the enforcement of the Superhero Registration Act, which dictates a mandatory registration for individuals with superpowers. The purpose of the act is to help the U.S. government regulate their actions.
While Captain America is against the new law, it was seen that Iron Man, played by Robert Downey, Jr., is supportive of it. He was seen in the trailer saying, "If we can't accept limitations we're no better than the bad guys."
With that, the superheroes are expected to be divided in the upcoming film. It was revealed that Scarlet Witch, Hawkeye, Falcon, and Bucky are on Captain America's side.
"Captain America 3: Civil War" is expected to release on April 29, 2016.
