'Cardcaptor Sakura' Sequel News: Everything to Know Including the Trailer and Release Date

Fans who grew up with "Cardcaptor Sakura" thought that the series will never get a sequel. However, 15 years after the Japanese anime series concluded with "Cardcaptor Sakura: The Sealed Card," Clamp has announced an airdate for the sequel titled, "Cardcaptor Sakura: The Clear Card Arc." Furthermore, there were several details that revealed what to expect of the upcoming sequel that is a dream come true for the anime's fans.

The show runners of "Cardcaptor Sakura: The Clear Card Arc" have their work cut out for them as they are expected to revive a series that has been out of the radar for more than a decade.

In the new trailer that was released, it seems that they have every intent of bringing it back in the way fans remember it to be. It features most of the elements that fans saw in the original. At the same time, the visuals have been optimized to fulfill today's demands of high definition experience.

Meanwhile, Anime News Network reports that the cast of "Cardcaptor Sakura: The Clear Card Arc" are the following: Sakura Tange as the anime's main protagonist, Sakura Kinomoto, Aya Hisakawa as Keroberos, Junko Iwao as Tomoyo Daidoji, Motoko Kumai as Syaoran Li, Megumi Ogata as Yukito and Yue, Tomokazy Seki as Toya Kinomoto, Nozuma Sasaki as Eriol, and Emi Shinohara as Kaho Mizuki. Most of the original staff members will also be returning for the highly anticipated sequel.

The airdate for "Cardcaptor Sakura: The Clear Card Arc" is set to be on Jan. 7 at 7:30 a.m. in Japan. There is no word on when it will be released for the fans in the US, but more details are expected soon. In the meantime, fans can reorient themselves in the world of the Japanese anime series by re-watching the previous episodes and delving into nostalgia.
