Carol Burnett Sued for Misappropriated Funds (VIDEO)
Carol Burnet is being sued by Bob Banner Associates (BBA), a company stating that revenues due from "The Carol Burnett Show" and "Mama's Family" have been misappropriated.
According to papers filed in Los Angeles Superior Court, Bob Banner's team alleges that they are co-owners of the copyrights to the first five seasons of "The Carol Burnett Show." Associates state they received no accounting records or compensation for the episodes during those seasons.
The BBA is seeking what it believes it is due from those five seasons and consequent spin-off episodes of "Mama's Family." Both shows are still seen throughout the world and have been released on DVD, much to the delight of fans. Unfortunately, the BBA claims it should have received money from all of those releases.

"The Carol Burnett Show" was a weekly variety series that starred Burnett, Vicki Lawrence, Tim Conway, Harvey Korman, and Lyle Waggoner. The show was an immediate success with fans who enjoyed seeing the various skits and, more commonly, the main actors breaking into fits of laughter while on the air.
One of the most popular skits from the show, "Went With the Wind" was a spoof of the cult classic "Gone With the Wind." Fans had no idea what they were in for when Burnett walked down the series of stairs with a pole still in her back, a play on the scene where Scarlett wears a dress made from drapes in the window.
The show has been released on DVD, with episodes specifically chosen by Burnett and company. The original stars have also reunited for several specials, much to the delight of fans. And Burnett has enjoyed a huge following and successful career post "Burnett Show."
She starred with Vicki Lawrence on a spin-off of their skit "Mama's Family" and then took on other roles in TV specials and movies. She has also appeared in several guest roles on hit TV series, including "Law and Order: SVU."
