Carolina Panthers NFL Trade Rumors: Tre Boston Draws Trade Interest
When two-time Pro Bowl safety Mike Adams joined the Carolina Panthers last week, everybody knew he was going to get the starting job. That means the man he is replacing in the starting lineup, Tre Boston, is now expendable. But instead of playing in a backup role, Boston might still get the chance to play heavy minutes for another team next season.
Citing multiple sources, Black and Blue Review's Bill Voth said at least one team has contacted the Panthers to see if Boston is available for trade. He also noted that the team isn't actively shopping the safety, but they should be willing to listen to offers.
So, who called the Panthers? Everyone's best bet happens to be the Buffalo Bills.

New Bills head coach Sean McDermott used to be the defensive coordinator for the Panthers and the team appears to be targeting players who played for the Panthers. Former Carolina running back Mike Tolbert and wide receiver Philly Brown already joined the Bills last week, and it seems McDermott may want to recruit more players from his former team.
"I would bet at least one dollar that it is again Sean McDermott wanting now a defensive player from his system in Buffalo. Boston has played both safety positions in McDermott's defense and would be a huge asset for him as the team learns the requirements of the new scheme," Jeremy Igo of Carolina Huddle said in his report.
The Panthers selected Boston in the fourth round of the 2014 National Football League (NFL) draft and he had a total of two sacks, 108 tackles, 10 passes defended and three interceptions during his three-year tenure with the team. Boston may not have consistent enough to start at safety, but he can be a solid backup.
The Panthers have already traded away Kony Ealy to the New England Patriots. Will Boston be the next to go?
