Cartoon Network Announces Renewal of 'Uncle Grandpa' and 'Steven Universe' Season 5
It's a good day for both the fans of animated shows "Uncle Grandpa" and "Steven Universe." According to Entertainment Weekly, Cartoon Network has announced already that they are going to renew both shows not with just one more season but two. "Uncle Grandpa" and "Steven Universe" are still to air its third season but fans can be assured that even if it's going to close, both of the shows will get season 4 and season 5.
An original Cartoon Network series created by Pete Browngardt, "Uncle Grandpa" tells the story of magical Uncle Grandpa who travels around in an RV. He goes out to fulfill his mission of helping people especially kids in any way they may need some. He also has his friends with him like Belly Bag, Pizza Steve, Mr. Gus and Giant Realistic Flying Tiger. Deadline reported that beginning April, the cartoon show will host a Saturday block called "Good Mornings with Uncle Grandpa."
On the other hand, "Steven Universe" centers on the title character who is a young boy raised by three super heroic alien women known as the Crystal Gems. It is created by former animator of hit series "Adventure Time" Rebecca Sugar and has premiered since 2013. The show has just ended its second season and will soon open its third one sometime in June, which means fans will be treated to more whimsical animation and catchy original songs.
It's also detailed in io9 that the series will return to Cartoon Network for a run of weekly episodes. This will halt the recent "Steven Bomb" format wherein multiple episodes in a week are released. Starting June up to August, it will be dubbed as the "Summer of Steven."
TV Series Finale noted that "Steven Universe" and "Uncle Grandpa" have been renewed along with other shows in the network including "Adventure Time," "Clarence," "The Amazing World of Gumball" and "Regular Show."
