'Castle' Season 8 Episode 17 Spoilers: Rick And Kate Hunt For An Antique Lamp And A Killer
ABC's hit police procedural drama TV series "Castle" Season 8 returns this week with a brand new episode that will find Rick, Kate and the rest of 12th Precinct on the hunt for a missing lamp and a perpetrator of a murder crime.
According to the synopsis shared over at The Futon Critic for Episode 17 "Death Wish," the NYPD will get wind of the news linked to the murder of a man who is somewhat involved in a smuggling business. Going further into the investigation, Castle and Beckett discover themselves tied in a search for an antique which is believed to be the mythical Aladdin's lamp.
While it may seem confusing, a promo video for the episode shows how exactly the detectives were able to connect the magical object to the case. The clip opens up with Esposito and Ryan trying to impress their boss by delivering some fresh intels about the murder of a lamp owner.

During the deliberation, Rick noticed as he tried to zoom one of the photos in Ryan's laptop a very interesting symbol in the lamp.
"I've seen that symbol. Yes…remember all those books on 'The Thousand and One Arabian Nights?'" Rick declared as he went over to Beckett's computer to search about the material.
As found out, the symbol happens to be "The Seal of Solomon," which is said to be "imbued with mystical powers including the ability to seal genies into lamps." Ryan and Esposito looked at each other as if in utter disbelief. Rick went on to point out that the Aladdin story could have been based on the discovery of a lamp in a cave believed to be the tomb of the biblical king, Solomon.
Even more surprising is the fact that the place is located in modern times Syria and Turkey. Castle deduced that the person in question did somehow found an "Aladdin's Lamp" which makes it possible for him to acquire "the money, the Porsche."
His explanations, however, just led Beckett, Ryan and Esposito to cringe knowing that Castle's theories are just but fantastical to be believed.
"Castle" Season 8 airs Mondays on ABC.
