'Castle' season 8 episode 2 spoilers and pilot episode recap: Kate goes missing
In the forthcoming episode of "Castle" entitled "XX," the official synopsis reads, in the conclusion of the eighth-season opener, Beckett's disappearance is examined from her angle as she fights to stay alive and uncover who wants to see her demise.
In a promo for the episode, Castle is angry at Beckett for lying to him about the call, which she defends by saying that she did what she needed to do in order to protect him. This conversation happens after Beckett is saved and she reminds him that he went missing for almost 8 weeks. The episode is the conclusion of the two-part premiere.
The season's pilot episode began with a woman sitting in a bar, sipping a drink when a man joined her. The man told her that he has seen her at the coffee shop and the gym and he wanted to know why she was following him. The woman stabbed the man in the chest.

Kate was getting ready for work and Castle had given her a cake. Kate got a call from someone and she told Castle that it was just a telemarketer. Meanwhile, at the police station, Ryan and Esposito were arguing over Kate's desk. Ryan got a call about a homicide.
At Castle's private investigator office, a man came in and thanked Castle for his services. Castle is confused at first and then he realized that Alexis had been handling his cases. Esposito called Castle from the crime scene because they needed Kate who was at a meeting. Castle volunteered to come down himself.
When Castle arrived at the crime scene, he learned that there are three victims. They all had guns, appeared to have been shot and came from the balcony of the theater. Castle examined a body and found one of Kate's bracelets inside the gunshot wound.
Castle is confused and does not understand. This leads him to discover that Kate lied about her meeting. The team found a woman named Haley and they questioned her. Haley ended up helping Castle look for Kate.
During the course of the investigation, Castle went missing as he was taken by a mysterious woman. The episode ends when Esposito shot the woman after she opened fire in the station.
