'Castle' Season 8 News, Spoilers: ABC Drama Introduces Aubrey Plaza As A Talking Robot
The events are about to get even more interesting as the 8th season of ABC's hit police-procedural drama TV series "Castle" continues this week with an episode focusing on the murder case of Rick's favorite author. Meanwhile, a non-human entity is set to spice things up in the show.
Citing the casting report from TVLine, it was revealed that "Parks and Recreation" star Aubrey Plaza will be on the show to lend her voice as "Lucy," a robot who helps Rick start to recover amidst a life without Kate.
"@NathanFillion remember when I was the voice of your smart house and we fell in love?! #deletedscenes #castle," the actress went to her social media last week.
On related news, the synopsis for the latest episode titled "What Lies Beneath" hinted about the death of Rick's hero, "a famously reclusive author." As expected of him, the new episode will see Castle going through the details to solve his hero's murder.
The summary went on to suggest that despite the "break-up" he and Captain Kate had in the previous episodes, the two will be hand in hand in cracking the crime. It is further teased that as they probed deeper into the issue, the duo will "discover that truth is stranger than fiction."
A slew of new promo photos were shared over at TVOverMind.com and it feature Rick and Alexis Castle (Molly Quinn) sitting in what appears to be a church where the dead author is probably laid to rest.
The next slides show the writer mingling with detectives Kevin Ryan (Seamus Dever) and Javier Esposito (Jon Huertas). It is interesting to note that the two officers were drawing their weapons inside the church. What could force Kevin and Javier to draw out their guns in a very unlikely place?
Find out how things unfold when "Castle" Season 8 airs this Monday, Oct. 12, on ABC.
