'Castle' Season 8 News, Spoilers: "XX" Sneak Peek Revealed; Beckett Fights for Her Life
The action and suspense of the new, two-part premiere episode of "Castle" Season 8 continues this week with "XX" and according to spoiler reports, Beckett's (Stana Katic) disappearance will now be explained.
Citing the report from TVGuide, the second part of the primer will focus on solving the mystery as to what really happened to Beckett and why a group of mercenaries are on her tail. The segment will also seek to fill in the gaps shown in the earlier episode as it will now take place in Beckett's perspective.
The summary further hinted that Beckett will be on a run for her life after she received a mysterious tip from her past.
Castle (Nathan Fillion), on his part, continues to dig into the details of his wife's 36-hour disappearance as well as the intention of the people who want her dead.
A new action-packed sneak peek was meanwhile shared over at YouTube which featured a thrilling cat-and-mouse chase between Beckett and some men.
The footage showed the NYPD detective can really manage to dodge her perpetrators but, as they are about to finally make their way out of the building, she and her companion, Vikram (Sunkrish Bala) are cornered.
All of a sudden, a flashbang was thrown in front of them and the gunmen who blocked the door were killed. A mysterious woman then emerged from the smoke and told them that they need to move fast. Beckett demanded that she be told of the newcomer's identity but the gun-toting woman refused to give the details, at least at first.
Later, as they are about to get in the escape car, the woman finally revealed that she is Rita (guest star Ann Cusack) and she is "Castle's stepmother."
The second clip, meanwhile, featured Castle confronting his wife about all that has been going on.
"I didn't do this to hurt you…I did what I did to protect you," Beckett answered as Castle demanded to know about the truth.
Find out more about these intense developments when "Castle" Season 8 airs later today at 10 p.m. on ABC.
