'Castle' Season 8 Spoilers: Finale To See The Demise Of Stana Katic's Kate Beckett?

Yet another unpleasant news coming over for the fans and avid watchers of ABC's hit police procedural drama TV series, "Castle." The show is now drawing near to its Season 8 finale and the rumors are rife, indicating that it could feature the death of Stana Katic's beloved character Kate Beckett.

This speculation comes on the heels of the casting information saying that the actress will no longer return to play her role if the network will green light a Season 9. The Deadline report also said that series cast member Tamala Jones, who plays Lanie Parish, is also exiting. Both characters are close friends in the force.

"Kate Beckett has been a beloved character on our hit series Castle for the past 8 years. We are grateful for Stana Katic's talent and dedication to the series and we hope to continue our relationship," ABC said in a statement to the media outlet. "Tamala Jones has also been an integral part of the series and we are grateful she was a part of Castle."

An update from The International Business Times cited numerous rumours saying that Beckett could be killed off in the finale episode titled "Crossfire." The said installment will reportedly focus on Rick Castle (Nathan Fillion) and Kate's run in with the LoKSat.

For the meantime, the show will be coming back on air this week with a brand new episode titled "Dead Again."

The Futon Critic's synopsis indicated that the couple will be looking into what might appear to be an attempted murder case which involves a "mild mannered safety inspector for the city" who got poisoned by miraculously survived the ordeal. However, eyebrows began rising when the person in question got poisoned yet again and just like the first, survived through it.

Find out how these events will unfold when "Castle" Season 8 Episode 19 premieres this Monday, Apr. 25 at 10 p.m. on ABC.
