Cavaliers' Victory Rally: What to Expect, the Program and Where to Watch the Free Online Webcast

A Huge Victory Rally Is Expected for the Cavaliers

It's been 52 years since Cleveland won a professional sports championship, so Cavaliers fans are expecting a huge rally and victory parade this Wednesday, July 22.

Cleveland Cavaliers won Game 7 in a best of 7 NBA finals series against the season-record breaking Golden State Warriors. The Cavaliers championship is particularly historic, not only because it is the first NBA championship of the franchise, but also because it is the first time that a team came back from a 3-1 deficit to win.

According to the NBA website, the program will start near Quicken Loans Arena at 11 a.m. ET. This victory parade will feature more than 60 units, including floats, the OSU marching band, specialty vehicles and the NBA Champions themselves holding the Larry O'Brien trophy.

The parade will begin on West Huron Street, heading left onto Ontario Street, left onto Carnegie Avenue, left onto Lakeside Avenue, left onto East 6th street, then finally end at Cleveland Convention Center where a public rally will take place behind the center at Mall B.

A series of celebrations and presentations will entertain the crowd at Mall B, where LeBron James, his teammates and the Cavs franchise owner Dan Gilbert, are expected to speak. The organizers are aiming for a 1:30 p.m. program, but that, of course, depends on how the parade flows.

Hundreds of Thousands Expected to Participate

The number of people that will pack downtown Cleveland is expected to reach hundreds of thousands. In fact, more than 20,000 Cavs fans met the team just as they arrived at the airport. There is a sense of excitement and electricity in the air as fans are already lining up to buy Cavs gear, keeping vendors so busy they can't keep stock.

There are a few restrictions to keep the rally fun and safe. Large bags will be screened, coolers aren't allowed, and both tailgating and alcohol are strictly prohibited.

You can watch a free online webcast of the rally at CavsTV live. WKYC will also stream the event live through their Facebook page: WKYC Channel 3 – Cleveland. In addition, you can watch the event live through Fox 8 Facebook page.
