CBS Broken Leg Replay: Kevin Ware Injury Video Replays Halted on CBS (VIDEO)

CBS has limited replays of Kevin Ware's broken leg incident that horrified viewers on Sunday in the NCAA 2013 March Madness game between Louisville and Duke.

The game was broadcast live on the channel allowing viewers to see the horrific nature of the injury, and in the immediate aftermath of the incident the network did show numerous replays. However, the network has now said that it would no longer replay the footage due to its graphic nature.

The network has already been praised by some for not allowing the injury to be shown close-up, and in the replays it did show after the incident they used cross-court shots and never showed the injury zoomed in.

However, they did air several of the Louisville players in obvious distress at the sight of the injury, and the reaction of some of the bench players next to where Ware went down - they can be seen jumping back and turning away in shock - some falling the ground, and there were reports that a player even vomited.

In the incident, Ware jumped up and across court to try and block a 3-point shot by Duke's Tyler Thornton, but when he landed he came down at an angle and the bottom half of his leg snapped in half, with the bone reported to have pierced through the skin.

The game was halted momentarily as medics rushed to Ware's aid, as he laid courtside in agony.

It was later revealed that Ware suffered a compound fracture, and it is not yet known how long he may be out of action for or whether the injury could have any long term effects on his career.

As Ware was carried off on a stretcher fans chanted his name, but on court some of his teammates were moved to tears, and it was even reported that some players vomited by the bench.

Louisville players quickly had to regroup into a huddle and recapture their composure, and it appeared they did a good job of it. They went on to clinch an NCAA 2013 Final Four spot, eventually beating Duke convincingly by 85-63.

Ware has since had successful surgery to repair the compound fracture that he sustained in the game, and he is expected to return home on Tuesday.

The Louisville Cardinals have said they are hopeful that he'll be on the bench during their Final Four game against the Wichita State Shockers on April 6.

Here is a video of the Kevin Ware injury incident, although viewers are warned the footage is quite gruesome:
