CBS Upfront News: Network's Lineup Looking Good with 'MacGyver' and Other New Shows for Autumn

Even if "Supergirl" has already departed from CBS as it flies to CW, there are still lots of reasons for the viewers to stay tuned to the network. After all, the network has bolstered its lineup with eight new riveting shows, most of which to debut this fall.

According to CBS News, the network has recently released the trailers of its upcoming new shows, and those who have seen them can only agree that things bode well for the network sans the presence of the Girl of Steel.

1. "MacGyver"

Leading the roster of the shows that aim at bolstering CBS's share of viewers is the reboot of the '80s hit series MacGyver. Playing the titular role in the reboot of the series is Lucas Till, who people remember most for his small role in X-Men movies. Apparently, Till will breathe life to a younger version of MacGyver, who has the viewers glued to their TV screens back in the '80s, thanks to his resourcefulness in escaping situations that endanger his life and those of others with the use of paper clips, survival knife, and many other unconventional items, as per Slash Film.


2. "Bull"

"Bull" takes inspiration from the early stages of the life of Dr. Phil McGraw and stars Michael Weatherly as Dr. Jason Bull, who is not only brilliant, but brash and charming, too. He is described to the ultimate puppet master who combines psychology, intuition, high tech information in order for him to get what he wants from the jurors and the accused.


3. "The Great Indoors"

This upcoming CBS show features Joel McHale as Jack, an adventure reporter who finds himself in an awkward situation as he needs to adapt to the norm of the present times while leading a talent of millennials the digital department of a famous outdoor magazine.

4. "Kevin Can Wait"

Kevin James stars in "Kevin Can Wait," which follows the life of a just retired police officer who looks forward to spending more quality time with his family, only to realize that the challenges he faces at home as a retiree are tougher than those he faced when he was still on the streets.

5. "Man with a Plan"

Matt LeBlanc headlines "Man with a Plan," which follows the life of a contractor who spends more time with his kids after his wife returns to work. It is then he realizes that parenting is no easy job as he deals with his bratty kids.

6. "Pure Genius"

Dermot Mulroney and Augustus Prew top-bill "Pure Genius," which is about a Silicon Valley tech titan and a veteran surgeon, both of whom have a controversial past connected to a high tech hospital of the future.

7. "Training Day"

This upcoming CBS crime-thriller series is a small screen adaptation of the movie of the same title. "Training Day" will follow the lives of a young police officer who partners with a seasoned officer with questionable morals.

Except for "Training Day," which will debut in 2017's mid-season premiere, all new shows will arrive on TV in fall this year.
