'Celebrity Big Brother' Cast Rumors: Are Jenna Fischer, Jimmy Fallon In?

CBS is finally doing "Celebrity Big Brother" for the first time since the show premiered 17 years ago. Host and executive producer Julie Chen confirmed that the process for finding celebrity housemates has begun.

Rumors on Twitter alluded that "The Office" star Jenna Fischer might join "Celebrity Big Brother." The actress doesn't hide the fact that she's a huge fan of reality TV competitions and she's hooked on following shows like  "Big Brother" and "Survivor." 

However, Fischer was quick to deny the rumors on social media. She told a fan who tagged her about it that it's not true she's going inside any Big Brother house.

Meanwhile, Chen mentioned that she would like "The Tonight Show" host Jimmy Fallon to enter the "Big Brother" house.

"[He] is a big fan of the show," Chen said. "If he does do it, I bet we could get [Stephen] Colbert, [James] Corden and [Jimmy] Kimmel. Can you imagine?"

Chen also said that CBS wanted to do "Celebrity Big Brother" since 2001, but nothing worked out despite numerous discussions with stars who might be interested.

While this will be a first for the U.S. network, "Celebrity Big Brother" remains a top-rating show In the U.K. after all these years and some American stars even competed in the house overseas.

CBS wants the special season of the U.S. version to air sometime during the winter in 2018. It will be up against NBC's Winter Olympics programming.

"Celebrity Big Brother" will have a slightly shorter run compared to the regular "Big Brother" series, which goes for about 40 weeks. Even so, the show will have multi-episode airings weekly as well as live feed access.

"Celebrities will be under the watchful eye of the Big Brother cameras, facing the classic game elements, and of course new twists in this special winter event," producers Allison Grodner and Rich Meehan said in a statement.

"Big Brother" has been on the air on CBS for 19 seasons. The 20th season, composed of regular competitors, will return in the summer.
