Celine Dion News: Singer Celebrates First Birthday as a Widow
Amidst the family tragedies that beset her recently, losing a husband and a brother in just a span of days, Celine Dion proved that her "heart will go on" loving life as she recently celebrated her 48th birthday as seen on the photos that she shared online.
"Surprise studio birthday party with a fabulous team! Fête surprise hier avec l'équipe en studio! #cakeatwork," she wrote as a caption to her Instagram post.
The singer was surprised by her friends in her own recording studio, a move that must have been fueled by love and concern for the widowed singer who lost her husband for 21 years, René Angelil, in January this year. Two days later, her brother, Daniel Dion, also passed away.

Both lost their battles to cancer.
Weeks after the demise of her husband, Dion, lowered the selling price of her property in Florida by as much as $30 million in order to bait in interested buyers. The property has been on bid at the market for three years already. The five-bedroom estate, which has its own waterpark, tennis court, and golf range is now up for sale at its reduced price of $45 million.
The singer also sold her Quebec, Canada property in February as, allegedly, she is planning to permanently reside in Las Vegas, where she has a regular performance at Caesar's Palace.
With the singer posting her seemingly simple birthday celebration on Instagram, it seems that she is slowly picking the pieces after the heartbreaking events in her personal life.
Meanwhile, the government of Quebec, Canada is not paying all the expenses incurred during funeral of Angelil, which totals to 700, 000 Canadian dollars and will only pay $49,770 for the bill. The government offered the family a national funeral in January, which meant paying for the funeral cost.
"We were touched by the death of René Angélil. We wish to respect the wishes of Céline Dion and her family. Quebecers will have the chance to bid farewell to a man that left a mark on the cultural landscape of our nation," Quebec Premier Philippe Couillard said in January after confirming that Dion's family accepted the national funeral offer.
