CES 2016: Razer Blade Stealth Is an Ultraportable Laptop Made for Gamers

The CES 2016 is in full swing, and among the companies displaying their new products is Lenovo's partner, Razer. This year, the gaming company has introduced an ultrabook for gamers called the Razer Blade Stealth.

Razer has clearly endeavored to create a regular ultrabook with the latest addition to its Blade series. Unlike previous Blade laptops that weighed 4 pounds, the Razer Blade Stealth trimmed down to 2.75 pounds and 0.52 inches thin.

The 12.5-inch ultrabook is powered by a 6th-Gen Intel Core i7 Processor inside a CNC aluminum chassis. Gamers can also choose between Quad HD (at 3,840 x 2,160 pixels) or Ultra HD (at 2,560 x 1,440 pixels) touch screen displays. It comes with 8 GB RAM and storage options of 128 GB, 256 GB, and 512 GB.

The Razer Blade Stealth also comes with an individually RGB backlit keyboard. Users can program each key to light up with any color they want or even animate in patterns.

In addition, Razer included a Thunderbolt 3 USB Type-C port, in addition to two USB 3.0 ports and Ethernet. The Thunderbolt 3 port can be used to charge the device or connect it to monitors and other accessories.

The Thunderbolt 3 port can also be used to connect the device to the Razer Core, an external graphics docking station. Through the Core, players can add desktop-grade graphics card like Nvidia or AMD. The Core comes with an Ethernet network cable and four USB 3.0 ports to connect to an external monitor, mouse, and keyboard. The Razer Core is expected to arrive in the first half of 2016, but Razer has not revealed its price yet.

Razer Blade Stealth's base model is now available for $999 at Razer's online store, while higher-end models cost $1,599. It will start shipping from Jan. 29. The new gaming ultrabook will also be available at Microsoft Stores in February.
