Chad Johnson Buys $300,000 Lamborghini Despite Evelyn Lozada Divorce

Being newly unemployed and in the midst of a divorce did not stop NFL player Chad Johnson from purchasing a car worth over $300,000, according to reports.

Chad Johnson has become a source of controversy in recent months. He was fired after one season with the New England Patriots following a domestic dispute regarding his wife Evelyn Lozada.

Lozada, a popular reality star from "Basketball Wives," charged Johnson of headbutting her to the point that she needed stitches during an August incident. Their relationship then proceeded to fall apart, prompting VH1 to cancel a new reality show that was to be based on the couple's new life together.

Since, Lozada has accused Johnson of not only abuse but also infidelity, and she has since filed for divorce. During an episode of "Fix My Life" on Oprah's OWN network, Lozada admitted she knew Johnson may have been cheating on her long before they were even married.

Johnson is now in anger management classes according to MTV and "working on Chad" while he deals with potentially losing his career. Johnson opened up about it recently on "Inside the NFL."

"I lost that. And you know that saying, 'You never know what you have until it's gone,'" he stated. "And now I finally know what they mean."

But those efforts may not be enough, as Johnson appears to now be partaking in a bit of retail therapy instead.

The former Miami Dolphins receiver shared pictures of a Lamborghini Aventador on his Instagram with the captions, "Just grab the new Lamborghini Aventador," and "Loving my new toy," suggesting that he has added the car to his collection.

It was a questionable move for the 34-year-old player, who may never have a career with the NFL again. Johnson did however, play for 10 years, and may have plenty of money saved.
