'Doctor Strange' News, Spoilers: Film too Focus on Benedict Cumberbatch's Character; What Needs to Be Included
First 'Doctor Strange' Information is Here!
So far, Marvel has been very protective about what information has gone out regarding its "Doctor Strange" solo film. However, new information about the film has recently been announced.
According to the first synopsis of the film, "Doctor Strange" will follow the story of a talented neurosurgeon by the name of Doctor Stephen Strange. If the story should follow his comic book origins, the movie should be split into several parts.
Pre and Post Accident Stephen Strange
The first part of the movie will be focusing on how Strange was before he became the Sorcerer Supreme. In fact, Doctor Strange was one of the top neurologists in the world. He was so successful that he built a large amount of wealth and an ego as well.
That would all change when Strange would be involved in a car accident. After the incident, he would no longer have complete control over his hands as they now shake uncontrollably.
Learning the Mystic Arts, Becoming Sorcerer Supreme
It is very important that this part of the movie is well done or else there is a risk that audiences could get confused. Especially if it is not clear who the Ancient One (Tilda Swinton) is and what does he mean to the universe as a whole.
It also here that the movie's antagonist Baron Mordo (Chiwetel Ejiofor) could be introduced, who is vital to the film's success as the dynamic between Mordo and Strange is completely flushed out.
Greenwich Village and the Sanctum Sanctorum
The information released stated that part of the movie will be taking place in Greenwich Village in New York City. In the comics, this is where Strange's Sanctum Sanctorum is located. The Sanctum Sanctorum serves a base of operations for Strange where all of the ancient artifacts and tomes are kept.
The Sanctum Sanctorum is also used as a doorway to the astral plane, where many dangers and threats to our dimension are found. In the early days of the comics Mordo uses his powers to summon an army of demons into New York.
This would probably be the final act of the film as Strange and his newly found powers would need to protect the city from the horde of invaders. "Doctor Strange" is set for release on Nov. 4.
