Chelsea News: Pedro comes up big but Terry shows signs of decline

Chelsea finally won a league game with a 3-2 win over West Brom.

It appears that Chelsea has finally gotten its championship form back with a 3-2 win over West Bromwich Albion at the Hawthorns in the English Premier League.

The Blues recently acquired the services of Pedro Rodriguez from Barcelona after the Spaniard was long-linked with title rivals Manchester United.

And with the winger's arrival, Chelsea seems to be back on track as he scored a goal to give his team the lead.

Diego Costa doubled the lead with a goal ten minutes after, but it was quickly reduced to half after James Morrison struck one back for West Brom.

Cesar Azpilicueta restored the two-goal advantage before another goal from Morrison gave the match its final 3-2 scoreline.

The match highlighted Chelsea's capacity as a champion but also showed its difficulties especially in the defensive end with the team being reduced to 10 men after skipper John Terry was sent off.

It has been an early discussion this season whether Terry is still capable to hold the defence of the Blues with his advancing age.

Despite him appearing to slow down, Jose Mourinho has started Terry in all of the league matches so far but he seemed to lacked pace and it was most evident in the match against West Brom.

As the last defender between Salomon Rondon and the Chelsea net, Terry lunged and tripped the Venezuelan, giving him a straight red card.

This should only fuel the talks of bringing in a defender to Stamford Bridge, with main target John Stones still on the most wanted list for Mourinho.

However, it seems like the Everton man will stay at Goodison Park for the time being, with the Toffees set to turn down every bid made by Chelsea.

Despite only being 21 years old, he has shown that he is one of the elite defenders in the league and is ready to take on any challenge as he stops the league's best forwards.
