On March 23, 2015, the Carolina Hurricanes host the Chicago Blackhawks at PNC Arena in the NHL. The game starts 7 p.m. ET.

Still trying to climb the Central Division rankings, the Blackhawks have won four of their last five matches. They had their streak recently cut by the Dallas Stars. Prior to their loss to Dallas, Chicago has beaten tough teams like the San Jose Sharks, New York Islanders and the Rangers.

As it stands, they are third in their division but only five points behind top-placed St. Louis Blues.

Chicago have also been excellent on the road as well, winning six of their last eight matches when playing as visitors. This should come in handy when they face Carolina.

Carolina have hit a rough patch as they have only one in their last seven matches. They are also on a three-game losing streak which includes an overtime loss to the Ottawa Senators and a penalty shootout loss to the Rangers. The struggling Hurricanes are last in the Metropolitan Division, eight points behind the Columbus Blue Jackets.

In their head-to-head match-ups, Chicago has dominated Carolina. The last time the Hurricanes registered a win was back in 2011 when they won 3-0 at home.

Since then the Blackhawks have won three straight, including one this season.

In their only meeting so far in the 2014-15 campaign, the Blackhawks beat the Hurricanes 5-2 at the United Center.

Carolina could not find an answer for Jonathan Toews who scored twice in the game and registered an assist. John-Michael Liles and Alexander Semin scored consolation goals for the Hurricanes but they proved to be futile in the eventual outcome.

As far as injuries are concerned, Carolina is without Jack Hillen and Rasmus Rissanen, who are considered game-day decisions. Hillen suffered a concussion earlier in the month while Rissanen is nursing a knee injury.

Chicago is only missing Patrick Kane who is out with an upper body injury. The star is slated to return late May.
