And in Game 1 of this series, it seemed that experience was set to beat out the youthfulness of the Wild.

In less than two minutes, Brandon Saad opened the scoring for the game with a goal that gave Chicago the early lead.

From then on the Blackhawks looked like the fresher team coming off the ice and doubled in the 14th minute when Patrick Kane scored to give them a two-goal cushion.

Things went from bad to worse for Minnesota as they surrendered a third goal only a little after two minutes as Marcus Kruger netted at 15:15 to complete the first period domination.

After coming out of the locker for the second period, the Wild looked like a completely different team, and they blitzed to score an early goal by Jason Zucker to cut the lead to two.

And in only a little over the fifth minute, Minnesota took advantage of a power play as Zach Parise scored his fourth in the playoffs to cut the lead down to a single goal.

It seemed that a comeback was inevitable and Minnesota completed their resurgence at the 9:30 mark of the period as Mikael Granlund scored to level the score at 3-3.

Chicago restored their lead with less than one minute left in the period when Teuvo Teravainen scored his first of the post-season to stop the bleeding.

Unfortunately for Minnesota, they could not muster another comeback and went blank in the final period to give Chicago a 4-3 win and a 1-0 series lead.

The Wild will look to take away the positives in that match and hope that they can convert it to a win against Chicago in Game 2.
