Chicago Bulls Roster News 2015: Derrick Rose's Two-Week Timetable Still in Effect

Rose suffered a facial injury last week.

The Chicago Bulls gave some promising news about point guard Derrick Rose's facial injury after the star got hit by an elbow during practice a week ago.

According to coach Fred Hoiberg, Rose's recovery has been on time and he is set to return to practice following two weeks of rest and rehabilitation.

The coach added that at the moment, Rose is being handed game tapes in his home to be able to study the game while he is unable to participate in on-court duties.

Rose suffered the injury last Tuesday when it was reported that he drove towards forward Taj Gibson and hit his face on Gibson's elbow.

The left orbital fracture required surgery and it was done the next day.

Despite adding to the list of Rose's long line of injuries, this one only seemed to worry the team momentarily as they gave a timetable of two weeks for the star to return.

It is understood that Rose will need to wear a face mask in order to prevent more contact on his face during games but that should not hinder him from playing at all.

Before the injury, there has been a lot of positivity with Rose entering the new season as this will mark his first attempt at a full season since getting injured in the 2011-12 season.

Since then he has missed 146 regular season games, not including the entire season in 2012-13.

Many have questioned his position as the best player in Chicago – given that he is unable to fulfill his potential due to his fragile nature.

Luckily for the team and Rose, this appears to be a minor setback and his notice to play the entire season with the team is still very much a reality.

For his career, Rose averages 20.4 points, 3.7 rebounds and 6.5 assists per game.
