Chicago Bulls NBA 2015 News, Rumors: With Top 2 Players Out Until Season's End, Will Chicago Make It?
With the 2014-15 NBA season reaching its final stretch, teams are already doing everything they can in order to secure a decent playoff spot.
Unfortunately for the Chicago Bulls, it may be another grind during the season's final weeks.
Just last week, Derrick Rose suffered another injury – this time a torn medial meniscus on his right knee. While he already underwent an operation, reports are pointing to a six to eight-week timeline before the guard can fully recover.
Meanwhile, the Bulls' leading scorer also went down with an injury after colliding with DeAndre Jordan during Chicago's loss against the Clippers.
Jimmy Butler, who averages more than 20 points and almost six rebounds a game, will reportedly be sidelined for the next six weeks.
To make things even worse for the Bulls, their sixth man Taj Gibson also sprained his ankle in their previous game against the Wolves.
With the positioning in the Eastern Conference as tight as ever, it is up to the twin tower combination of Pau Gasol and Joakim Noah whether the Bulls will remain aggressive inside or not.
Fortunately, coach Tom Thibodeau has other players to spare including Euro league MVP Nikola Mirotic, who led the way for Chicago in their last game against the Wizards.
Tony Snell may still be inconsistent, but whenever his shots start to fall, the other team is definitely in trouble.
While the two best offensive players of Chicago are injured, the Bulls might just temporarily return to their defensive mindset.
However, limping into the playoffs may not be the entrance Bulls fans have been waiting this season.
