Chicago Bulls Roster News 2015: Who Will Take Leadership Role in the Upcoming NBA Season?
There were a lot of high hopes last season for the Chicago Bulls, which have been in their healthiest form in recent years. However, the changing roles for the players became evident and caused instability in offense.
Fortunately, the team has kept itself intact so far, entering the 2015-16 NBA season, although there are some rumors pointing to trades involving Joakim Noah, Taj Gibson and even Jimmy Butler, who was obviously the best Bull to play last season.
The departure of coach Tom Thibodeau is crucial and will definitely change the style of Chicago's play. However, if the Bulls' roster remains the same when the season begins, players will become more familiar with their playing styles and attitudes on and off the court.
Speaking of chemistry, there were reports claiming that reigning Most Improved Player of the Year Butler and former MVP Derrick Rose have not been on good terms since the collapse during the playoff series against the Cleveland Cavaliers.
However, in an interview, Butler said that things really do get tough among teammates after losses, but once the team starts winning again, all those rumors soon go away.
"We didn't win," Butler said during Team USA's practice this week. "That's it. When you don't win, somebody's got to find something to blame it on."
Butler is positive that he can become a leader in the team, one which he considers is his next step of improvement as a player. He said that every Bulls player can be a leader in his own way. Butler believes he is a leader when it comes to motivating his teammates to push harder and practice in the right direction.
"A team full of leaders -- but I have to be the one to step up and say something when things aren't going the way that they're supposed to go, when we're not practicing the right way, I think that's my job," Butler added.
