Portland are only a few games above the .500 mark, and despite many being surprised at their achievements this year, the Trail Blazers undoubtedly want to silence the critics and reach the post-season later on in the season.
On the other hand, the Bulls have been hampered with injuries that have resulted to many dismissing them as a strong team in the East. However, they have managed to stay relatively afloat and are trying to get big wins to stay relevant in the playoff picture.
This is the final matchup they have this regular season and the two teams have only met once this year, with the Bulls winning a close 93-88 battle. In that game, both teams traded baskets and defensive stops in an all-out exciting affair.
However, it was Jimmy Butler and Derrick Rose who made the difference in the game, as the former finished with 22 points and 4 assists, while Rose returned from being sidelined to finish with 17 points to help the Bulls.
For Portland, Ed Davis had an outstanding game with 12 points and 13 rebounds, while Damian Lillard struggled with 19 points but only shot 4-of-22 from the field. He got most of his points from the free throw line as he drained 11 of his 13 attempts.
Now expect both teams to go all out as they try to get the victory, while the Blazers have an added sense of urgency as they do not want to be swept this season.
