The Raptors are currently leading the Atlantic Division with a 19-12 record and they hold a 1.0 game advantage over the Boston Celtics. The New York Knicks, Brooklyn Nets and Philadelphia 76ers are below and trying to catch the top two teams of the group.
On the other hand, the Bulls are in the tough Central Division which is currently being led by the Cleveland Cavaliers who are 19-9. Second are the Indiana Pacers at 17-12 and the Bulls are 0.5 games behind the Pacers with a 16-12 record.
The Detroit Pistons are not far behind, while the Milwaukee Bucks round out the division in the East.
This is only their first of four meetings during the course of the regular season so expect both to try and get the win.
For the Bulls, they have been very inconsistent despite having a very deep team. They have Jimmy Butler who is relied on as the top scorer, Pau Gasol who is still one of the most reliable centers in the league and Derrick Rose who shows glimpses of who he once was during big games.
However, they lack intensity and their defence has slowed down significantly since last year which has cost them to lose a few games.
Meanwhile, the Raptors have Kyle Lowry, DeMar DeRozan and Terrence Ross who can flat out play especially on the fast break and they can capitalise on mistakes by the Bulls.
