'Chicago Fire' season 4 plot news: First teaser released
NBC released the first teaser footage of season 4 of "Chicago Fire," which revealed the season will pick up soon after the events on season 3 finale.
The previous season ended with Dawson, played by Monica Raymund, discovering a dead woman in Casey's apartment. She then calls Voight, played by Jason Beghe, in order to find Casey. Voight then brings in the rest of Chicago PD, who finds Casey with Nesbitt.
Dawson will also be dealing with Dawson's pregnancy. While the baby belongs to Casey, Matt Olmstead shared that the two may not end up together, despite the circumstances. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Olmstead stated, "The mere fact that we're in the room having a robust discussion about what those ramifications could be was a good sign that we're on to something. It's better to have a couple different possibilities, even though there are pros and cons to everything, rather than to play it safe and have the relationship fizzle out." Olmstead explained that they may not end up together because Casey will feel as if he is forced into the relationship, while Dawson prefers to let him realize his responsibilities on his own.
It was also reported that the upcoming season will introduce a new character. Entertainment Weekly shared that Fredric Lehne will be joining the season with a recurring role. He will play the character of deputy district chief Ray Riddle. His character is expected to be the boss of Eamonn Walker's character. He aims to become the fire commissioner, not caring whether he puts the Firehouse 51 in jeopardy getting there.
Steven R. McQueen will also be joining the cast as a firefights. His character is named Jimmy Borelli, who will have a hard time adjusting to the group.
The upcoming season of Chicago Fire is expected to return on NBC this Oct. 13.
