'Chicago Fire' Season 5 Spoilers and Cast Details: No White Wedding for Casey and Dawson; An All-Casey Episode Confirmed in Coming Season
Casey chose to be with Dawson rather than give in to temptation in last season's finale
One of the spoilers that fans of "Chicago Fire" Season 5 are excited about is the possibility of a wedding for Casey and Dawson. This is because the couple has gone through the wringer and back in their relationship. And, in the coming season, their fans are hoping they will return just as strong as they ever were.
Wedding in the pipeline
Jesse Spencer who plays Lieutenant Matthew "Matt" Casey, left an opening for the wedding spoiler in an interview. He admitted that a wedding of his character and Gabriela "Gabby" Dawson (Monica Raymund) is indeed in the show's pipeline. He did not reveal though if the fans should expect the wedding to happen in "Chicago Fire" Season 5.
Spencer added that he feels the writers of the show are toying with him with the wedding storyline as much as they are keeping the viewers in suspense. But, he only asks the writers to come up with something fun and yet heartfelt storyline should the wedding indeed happen. Spencer revealed that he and Monica do not want for their characters to have a white wedding with all the works.
Casey and Dawson become foster parents
In last season's finale of "Chicago Fire", things did not happen the way Dawson and Casey wanted them to. Dawson received a call for her to be a foster parent to Louie, a young boy she rescued. She readily agreed but she was not sure if Casey will agree with her decision or not.
Meanwhile, Casey had a tempting invitation from his political consultant, Susan Weller (Lauren Stamile) to meet in her hotel room. Casey had a choice between creating a happy life with Dawson and now Louie, or choose to go with Susan with whom he shared a strong attraction with.
He chose Dawson
The "Chicago Fire" Season 4 finale ended with Casey choosing to be with Dawson, who was shocked with Casey's choice. The decision should not have been much of a surprise since Casey always wanted a family and is in fact a family man through and through.
EP Matt Olmstead also confirmed that they are considering getting the two married in "Chicago Fire" Season 5. But, before the fans go crazy, he clarified that if Dawson and Casey do decide to get married, it would be for the right reasons.
The couple will be in the process of adoption when the series returns and Olmstead said that he will not allow a wedding for the sake of making the adoption process easier. He added that if and when a wedding will take place, they will do it because it is time.
All-Casey episode
Another big spoiler for "Chicago Fire" Season 5 that Spencer revealed is that episode 4 of the coming season will be an all-Casey episode. The storyline hopes to delve deeper into the character.
This will be brought on when Casey will find himself in a tough situation outside the firehouse. According to Spencer, Casey will do a MacGyver to escape the situation. The actor further added that his character will be by his lonesome and wouldn't be needing a backup.
All new episodes of "Chicago Fire" will be aired beginning October 11, Tuesday on NBC.
