'Chicago Fire' Season 5 Spoilers: Severide & Stella Romance Threatened by Her Unstable Ex's Return; Big Secret About Mouch Revealed
No Casey and Dawson wedding in new season according to EP Matt Omstead.
The waiting might have been long for the fans of "Chicago Fire" Season 5 but all spoilers and details that have been coming out prior to its October 11 premiere indicate that it might just be worth it. The premiere of the season titled "The Hose or the Animal" clues fans to where their favorite characters are after last season's finale.
Stella's ex resurfaces
The "Chicago Fire" Season 5 premiere will have a former "Chicago Med" actor as guest star. Guy Burnet will play the role of Grant, Stella's (Miranda Rae Mayo) unstable ex who left Chicago Med without prior notice. Severide (Taylor Kinney) and Stella have both been extra cautious and been looking for him since. In the season premiere, he will once again surface.
Mouch and Brett embark on a surprising career
Problems will continue to plague Borrelli (Steven R.McQueen) in "Chicago Fire" Season 5. His conflict over the death of his brother with Chief Boden (Eamonn Walker) will escalate further. It will be a different matter for Mouch (Christian Stolte) and Brett (Kara Kilmer) however. The two will embark on something that fans definitely did not see coming.
It turns out that Mouch is actually a closet romance novelist. Brett discovers the secret he has been keeping for so long in "Chicago Fire" Season 5 and she will use this to her advantage. Spoilers say that Mouch will be forced to write a racy novel set in a firehouse with her.
A new chapter for Casey and Dawson
Casey (Jesse Spencer) will continue his work as Alderman. His relationship with Susan Weller (Lauren Stamile) will no longer be as close in "Chicago Fire" Season 5 as it was last season. There will also be a new dynamic in Casey's relationship with Dawson (Monica Raymund). Since they are now both responsible for Louie (Aiden and Austin Cohen), the couple starts to question if their jobs and putting their lives at risk all the time are all worth it.
EP Derek Haas in a previous interview about "Chicago Fire" Season 5 addressed the rumors of a Casey-Dawson wedding. He practically dashed many fans' hopes when he revealed that their favorite couple will not be getting married just yet but will be starting a new chapter in their lives.
Another crossover romance
Meanwhile, another Chicago crossover romance will happen in "Chicago Fire" Season 5. Sylvie Brett will be romantically involved with Antonio Dawson (Jon Seda), a detective from "Chicago P.D." According to EP Matt Omstead, the May-December pairing came about after the fans expressed their wanting to see the two of them together.
